This year's Christmas event is called "A Christmas Warble" in which
Ebenezer Scourge ruins a Christmas feast set for Santa Clause, Jack
Frost, & other Christmas related NPC's as well as locking Santa up
in a cage.
To begin this event, head down to either Draynor Village,
Falador, or Varrock and once there, you will see a Christmas cupboard
set for you to enter.
You will first need to talk to the Queen
of Snow who will tell you to find a Snow Imp to help you on your
journey. After getting an Imp, you will now have to scare Scourge with a
ghost costume made out of bedsheets. After, the Queen of Snow will tell
you about their relationship that ended in shambles. The storyline has
quickly become such a mess, even for a holiday event.
Now, you
will have to go back to Scourge and talk to him, however, he becomes
very annoyed and decides to freeze all of the partygoers for the
Christmas feast. You must then get buckets of water to unfreeze the
partygoers, this sounds much easier than it actually is.
One of
the partygoers named Tiny Thom will then tell you how sad he is that
Christmas is ruined which then gives the Snow Imp the idea to summon
Tiny Thom in front of Scourge to give him some sympathy. You will then
scare Scourge with some emotes which finally leads him to unlocking
Santa from the cage.
After, talk to Santa who thanks you by
leaving you a present under the Christmas Tree. Open it and
congratulations, you have completed the 2009 Christmas event. The
rewards for completing the event are very nice, the rewards are a Candy
Cane, the Ghost Costume, & a new emote!
PROS:
+ The rewards are great!
+ Good length.
CONS:
- The storyline is a bit ridiculous. Even for Runescape.
Overall Thoughts and Rating:
I was worried that this year's event was going to be a total flop but I
was far from the truth. This year's event was fun and was not too long,
and was not too short. The rewards will give you something to talk
about as you will be very satisfied with the costume & the new
emote.
