Pretty bland match. DiBiase just doesn’t really do anything for me as Rhodes is seemingly the star of the match as he picked up the win.

Always liked Henry and so glad to see that he finally won the big one. The match wasn’t anything too special but the psychology and dominance by Henry was all there with the promo afterwards solidifying his spot. A great moment in the show and especially for Henry’s career.

Again, is this what people typically pay for? I never understood why Divas matches are even on PPV. Unfortunately, Kelly picks up the win and retains her title. Moving on.

Cena picks up the win and another WWE Championship is added to his belt. Really strong match from the two as the chemistry was there and really differed from past Cena matches throughout the course of the year. Crowd was there as well to add another spark.

Match 7: No Disqualification - CM Punk vs. Triple H
Don’t even know where to begin. I liked the match but at the same time, I didn’t. They let the mayhem from the interference take over and the action between these two just seemingly got forgotten. Even still, the match was fun to watch as Triple H lands a second Pedigree upon Punk to get the win.

A poor PPV performance from WWE. The three main matches were good and it stops there. Everything else was either bland or lacking something. Hopefully, Hell in a Cell will be much better.

ROH Best in the World 2011 Review
Match 1A: Generation Me vs. Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly
This match was a DVD bonus and not on the iPPV card due to legal reasons. I’m not too sure how to rate this match, it was packed with spot after spot after spot. I’m not really one for these types of matches but it was an awesome way to kick off the show and really showed off what these two teams are capable of.

Match 1B: Colt Cabana vs. Tomasso Ciampa
Ciampa is the real deal, I would love to see this guy in the main event soon. He looks like a million bucks and his match against Cabana here proves that statement. Another good match to get the show going.

Match 2: Mike Bennett vs. Jay Lethal
The atmosphere is just ridiculous. It almost made this match what it was. Bennett has really improved over the past few months and you can see that in this match against Lethal. They managed to use the crowd as an advantage and pull off another good match to get the night going.

Match 3: No Holds Barred Barrio Street Fight - Homicide vs. Rhino
That was a straight fight and having a hot crowd made it so much better. The show is delivering on all cylinders and that was so much better than expected. Homicide gets the win but Rhino lands a Spear on Homicide through a table afterwards to the delight of the crowd. Good stuff.

That was so much fun and such a great way to send Daniels out. The crowd was so into the action and the match rolled nicely. There were a few spots where things definitely dragged out but the anticipation and build leading to the final few minutes made it all worth it.

Match 6: ROH World Tag Team Championships - Elimination - Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team © vs. The Kings of Wrestling vs. The All Night Express vs. The Briscoes
Four of the world’s best tag teams going at it for the belts. Once again, the crowd is way into this one as The Kings come out to a special entrance to hype things up. The eliminations were great and the action was constant but I couldn’t help but feel as if things kept getting dragged. The match went way longer than it had to and it really drew me out of the experience. The Kings faced off against Haas & Benjamin in the final where Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team retain the belts after a very underwhelming finish.

This is the match that defines the show, the one match that the entire show revolved around; Eddie Edwards vs. Davey Richards. The build for this match has been phenomenal so the anticipation is to nobody’s surprise, huge. The champion focused on the challenger’s knee throughout the course of the match but Davey wouldn’t budge. The two men kept going back to their hard styles of wrestling and it worked. The psychology, the buzz, and the wrestling in general was amazing. Granted, there were times in the match where it felt it was dragging a bit but they quickly got things moving after the action stalled. The emotion and the overall feeling illuminated by this match is second to none and something you won’t find in any other independent wrestling organization. Davey Richards captures the ROH World Championship after a huge kick to the skull of Eddie Edwards right after Richards proclaimed that Edwards would always be his brother. Professional wrestling gets annoying, frustrating, and dull at times. However, this match and whole feud proves otherwise. It shows how this sport can be as emotional and amazing as anything else. The speeches delivered afterwards made everything even more special than they already were. A fantastic match and something that represents what honor truly is.

Davey Richards winning the ROH World Championship is the perfect way to send Ring of Honor into a new millennium. As previously stated, the show revolved around the main event and for good reason. ROH Supercard of Honor VI Review
Match 1: Homicide vs. Michael Elgin
Decent opening match from the two. Just something you would normally see in a Homicide match. A few fancy moves here and there until Homicide grabs the win.

Match 2: Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Bravado Brothers
Full of action with a hot crowd to back things up. They’re definitely not the two best tag teams in the business but they can pull out matches like this whenever they want.

Match 3: Steve Corino vs. Mike Bennett
Very similar to their last encounters which shouldn’t really come as a surprise. Both were good in their roles and Jimmy Jacobs should make for some interesting things down the stretch.

Match 4: El Generico vs. Chris Hero
Very entertaining match that was more fun than actual wrestling. Sometimes, these matches are needed and it was a nice change of pace from the night. Short and just enjoyable to watch.

This match would definitely be in the four star range a year ago or so but times have changed and after watching many Davey matches, the formula has gotten a bit dry. Very intense and very fun to watch but again, after watching this formula so many times, one must wonder why no one sells anything most of the time. It takes so much away from the match. Even still, I did enjoy this match and Davey screaming at the top of his lungs is always fun.

A bit slow but definitely a nice way to slow down the pacing of the show as we anticipate the next two matches. With that said, the match itself was really good as both men really know how to institute psychology into a match and get the crowd going. The feud between both tag teams continue!

Match 7: Chicago Street Fight - The All Night Express vs. The Briscoes
Just a fun and insane fight, you can almost feel the intensity. Definitely on par with last year’s street fight as chains, chairs, tables, and big spots were all used in the process. The feud really picks up here as something more dangerous and something more intense is on the way.

Match 8: ROH World Championship - Eddie Edwards © vs. Roderick Strong
They went for an intense match and that is exactly what they gave us. A very strong follow up to their epic match a couple months back. Edwards is beginning to play the John Cena role, he’s somewhat the new face of the company and the psychology of their matches are very similar. And that’s a good thing. Fantastic main event with a fantastic promo afterwards to cap things off.
Winner: Eddie Edwards

A very strong Chicago show as Ring of Honor steps into a new world. The undercard was definitely worthwhile and the two main events delivered in their own rights. I’m not sure if I want to call this the best show of the year but it’s definitely up there.

ROH Revolution: Canada Review
Match 1: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kyle O’Reilly
Awesome opening match! Both men really know how to get a crowd going, especially Claudio as he picked up the win. He is just a star out there.

ROH Revolution: USA Review
Match 1: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Homicide
This match was another decent exchange to get the crowd going for the show and basically the same thing as their last match with the only difference here being Prince Nana helping out Ciampa in his cause to win. Nothing special but Ciampa gets a good win as Homicide wraps up his weekend.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa

Match 2: Michael Elgin vs. Andy Ridge
Elgin gets the win in about five minutes after driving Ridge hard on the mat. Elgin has a great future and I can’t wait to see where he will be in a year from now. This match, however, was just stupid.

Match 3: Mike Bennett vs. Grizzly Redwood
This suffers the same problem from the last. Why does it take Bennett, a man who we are trying to elevate into a better position, about five or so minutes to beat this guy? The interest level in the first three matches of the night have never been this low for me. I’m just hoping the next match changes this.

Match 4: First Blood - The Briscoes vs. The All Night Express
Great stuff and a great way to finally crack open this show a bit. The ending was just downright clever and the crowd enjoyed everything about this one. This feud is definitely going to be huge.

Great brawl involving a hot crowd, lots of reasonable interference, and great action from these two which includes a sick finish. Good way to get the crowd ready for the epic main event.

Match 8: The Kings of Wrestling vs. The American Wolves
Better than the last time? Tough to call but damn, this was good. Great storytelling and fantastic in ring action. Amazing match with an amazing ending. The exchange between The Wolves afterwards just adds layers upon layers of drama. Tomorrow’s main event is going to be good.

Blog - 9/10/10
This might just be the greatest two weeks of my life. Senior year is everything I expected and much more.
So where do I start? I absolutely LOVE all of my classes as I have many great friends in them and many great teachers. I love waking up early to lift some weights and I love going to bed earlier than normal. Everything just feels so right.
Last night was my first stag dance of my life and what a roller coaster ride it was. Things started off with my friend driving me and another friend down to Albertson's to get my girl some flowers. We blasted Alice in Chains on the way down there while rolling down the windows as I sang the song to random people who gave me odd looks. Instead of getting her flowers (or sticks), I bought some baby food and some sort of toy animal that said "I love my mommy." because earlier in the week, I bought her a balloon that said "It's a boy!" On the way back, we blasted "Jizz in My Pants" while some girls looked at us in the parking lot. The dance started off really bad. I don't know how to dance but what hurt more was seeing my girl with someone else. I then saw her sitting by herself and she explained to me how she didn't like being around him and all sorts of stuff so I just went out and asked her out to Homecoming and she hugged me and said yes. I hung out with her for the rest of the night and it just made everything perfect.
Tonight is Glory by Honor IX on iPPV and it will be the first PPV I have ever ordered from ROH. I'm so stoked about it and I'm so glad I won't have to think about getting a Homecoming date while watching it. I can just sit back and enjoy the show. :)

Blog - 8/19/10
I'm back once again with my second blog of the month with a few updates to give you guys!
I just finished my senior registration and I'm ready to begin my senior year soon! Registration was great because I got to see some people who I haven't seen all summer and talking to them really made my day. Words cannot describe what's going through my head as I set to begin my senior year. Will 0 period be a pain? Will I go to Homecoming? Will I go to Prom? Will I go to all of the dances? With who? How will graduation be like? It's making me nervous but I say bring it on.
I'm also so glad to be done with summer school. Staying in the same classroom for 5+ hours gets really irritating for me. I did indeed meet some great people during my time there but I'm just so glad I'm done with it.
Oh, and last Thursday I raised hell at my usual hang out spot down at a mall where I also got to see The Other Guys movie. My friends really seemed to enjoy it and I got a kick out of it as well. If you're interested in seeing the shit that went down that day, click here!
The next time I'll probably be blogging is when my senior year of high school officially begins. Hang tight. I know I am. I'm stoked.
